About Lynn Valley Physio & Physiotherapy Centre

Physiotherapists are “body specialists” trained to assess, diagnose, and treat physical disorders and movement dysfunctions. As health care professionals, physiotherapists are licensed by the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia, and they have also completed a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an accredited university program.

LVOSP physiotherapists have additional accreditations and specializations. They also complete professional continuing education to stay current with the latest treatment techniques and technologies. Check out the staff bios to learn more about their areas of specialization.

Although our physiotherapists do work closely with your family doctor to provide the best treatment, and quickest rehab, not all injuries require a referral! If you are paying privately you do not require a referral for physiotherapy, we do however recommend that you check with your Extended Benefits Plan or Third Party Insurance to confirm they do not require one for your reimbursement.

All patients going through ICBC or WCB do require a doctor’s referral before they will approve payment for your physiotherapy.

PLEASE NOTE* If you are going through ICBC or WCB and do not have a doctors referral at the time of the initial visit, you will be charged the Private rate until we receive all documentation.

Please make sure you bring the following:

  • BC CARE CARD – So we can check to see if you have any partial coverage from MSP!
  • Your preferred method of payment – Cash, Cheque, Visa, MasterCard, or Interact.
  • Any information related to your injury or illness such as x-rays, MRI’s, and surgical reports, etc.
  • If your injury is related to an ICBC or WCB Claim please have your doctors referral, and claim number – without these you will be charged privately.

You should wear clothing that allows easy movement and access to the area of injury. Changing facilities are available at the clinic.

During your initial assessment, the physiotherapist will take and review your history, do a physical examination, asses your problem, provide a physical diagnosis, establish treatment procedure and conduct your first treatment. Expect the initial assessment to last 45-60 minutes. Subsequent visits are about 45 minutes but do vary dependant on your personalized exercise program.

An initial assessment is required for all new patients, for existing patients returning after 6 months, or for existing patients with recent or significant injury or health changes.

Please notify us as soon as you are aware you will not be able to make an appointment so that we may make that appointment time available to others. If we do not receive 24 hours notice there is a 25$ charge for Physiotherapy appointments or half the cost of the appointment for Massage Therapy.
