Game Ready™ cryotherapy

Game Ready™ cryotherapy uses spacesuit technology to provide improved healing and tissue recovery compared to traditional icing and compression. The result for patients is the fastest possible recovery from acute or chronic soft-tissue trauma due injury or surgery. Game Ready™ wraps have separate internal chambers that automatically apply periods of compression and cooling to any area of the body simultaneously. Pressure, temperature, and duration are controlled using a computerized control unit.

Mechanical traction

Mechanical traction relieves spine-based neck and lower back pain, as well as neurological symptoms that radiate to the arms or legs. By gently pulling on the spine, either intermittently or constantly, traction improves circulation, stretches soft tissue spinal structures, and decrease vertebral compression. Mechanical traction can reduce the effects of spinal stenosis, spondylosis (spinal osteoarthritis), and disc herniation.

Electrotherapy, ultrasound, and cold laser therapy

Electrotherapy involves different techniques to stimulate the brain’s electrical signals, and has many benefits. TENS treatments have been shown to be effective for relieving pain while NMES treatments are excellent for strengthening and re-educating weakened and dysfunctional muscles. Other forms of electrotherapy, such as High Voltage Galvanic and Interferential Current, help reduce pain and swelling.

Ultrasound is highly effective in stimulating healing, reducing swelling and, in some cases, increasing blood flow.

Cold laser therapy controls acute, chronic, and post-operative pain and accelerates healing. Treatments last only about 10 minutes, and patients do not feel any pain. Some patients may notice some relief right away, while lasting improvement for acute conditions is usually noticeable after six to eight visits.

Real time ultrasound

Real-time ultrasound lets physiotherapists and patients watch the core muscles “live,” which has two main benefits. For physiotherapists, they can assess any problems with these key stabilizing structures that may be contributing to conditions such as low back pain or incontinence, among others. For patients, being able to see muscles deep in the body gives them the opportunity to visualize proper contractions and to perform their rehabilitative exercises correctly and efficiently.

Polar Care® rental program

Patients recovering from soft tissue injuries or surgery can have all the benefits of LVOSP’s Game Ready™ icing and compression technology in the convenience of their own home. The Polar Care® unit applies the correct temperature and pressure to the injured area automatically via a specially designed sleeve. All the patient needs to do is rest and keep the injured area elevated—there is no need for ice packs or pressure bandages. The unit can be rented weekly without an appointment. Simply contact the LVOSP front desk.
