Cheryl Villanueva, B.Sc. (KIN)

Cheryl has a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from SFU. She has a post baccalaureate diploma in Gerontology, a certificate in Applied Human Nutrition and is certified in CPR C and First Aid.
She joined LVOSP in 2003 and has been working in the rehabilitation field for 9 years and hopes to further her education in the future. Her past experiences include managing work conditioning programs, leading active pool exercises and one-on-one active rehabilitation training.
In addition to her experiences, Cheryl has taken workshops to enhance her knowledge in areas such as core stability, shoulder stabilization and functional exercise analysis. She has also completed continuing education credits in myofascial trigger points and muscle imbalance testing.
As a previous lifeguard and an avid swimmer, Cheryl continues to remain active outside of work with regular activities like kickboxing and running. She enjoys participating in local and destination running events, especially those supporting a cause such as cancer in the Underwear Affair and the Nike Women’s Marathon.
